Celia Ramsay Portrait

Celia Ramsay, Kent's wife, was born and raised in Los Angeles. Her family later moved to northern California where she attended high school in Cupertino. She began singing as a child, received classical vocal training in her teens, and participated in choral, solo and madrigal ensemble. After high school she traveled to Scotland, France, England and Holland, finally settling in California to do an apprenticeship in letterpress printing with a well-known Berkeley book artist. She then attended UC Berkeley where she majored in rhetoric.

Celia's responsibilities at the winery include out-of-state compliance, working with the TTB on label approvals, accounting and handling donation requests. Despite her full schedule, she still finds time to cook an evening meal for the entire production crew throughout the long crush season!

Celia’s artistic fires still burn ardently; she is a professional Contra Dance caller and singer.  She also enjoys managing a monthly dance in the Napa Valley, teaching book arts and dance to kids, spinning yarn for living-history programs, and confesses to being a “knit-aholic”.  Mostly, Celia divides her time between running the winery and raising their two teenaged children, Calvaleigh (oldest) and Webster (tallest).
